Terry Brown, B. Comm (Hons)

Partner, Business Advisory Services

Legacy Bowes Group welcomes Mr. Terry Brown, B.Comm (Hons) to lead our Business Advisory practice. Terry brings 20 years of banking, sales, marketing and operational experience to his role. Terry holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and is in the process of completing his CGA which will ultimately become a CPA designation.

Terry is a confident, success-driven, and award-winning business leader who takes pride in being a strategic problem-solver, envisioning smart solutions and executing with expediency across all areas of the organization.

Terry brings with him a history of delivering aggressive revenue gains, operational enhancements, and innovation. His broad hands-on leadership experience across a variety of industries allows Terry to step into any business operation, quickly size up a situation and leverage this knowledge to recommend effective solutions that ultimately save real world dollars. With his experience in a variety of financial and executive roles, Terry is very proficient at evaluating mainstream financing opportunities and structuring creative financing solutions.

Some key sectors of involvement have included Federal, Provincial, Municipal and American Indian and First Nations governments, Fortune 100 and 500 corporations, including consumer goods, manufacturing, banking, transportation, hospitality, marketing, wholesale, energy, procurement and healthcare.

His personal philosophy also carries over to his volunteer work. Terry is currently the elected Chairperson for the Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce and the current President of the Transcona Literacy Centre. He is the Past President of the Thompson Chamber of Commerce and has direct experience fostering positive relationships with the business community. He has completed real world economic development initiatives ranging in scope from air/land freight reduction, cold weather testing, Public Utility performance evaluation, and fundraising/coordination of a multi jurisdiction Indigenous school breakfast program. As a community leader, Terry is experienced in initiating, negotiating and developing new initiatives that can help a community to prosper.

An experienced negotiator, Terry has successfully closed hundreds of business deals in size up to the tens of millions of dollars on behalf of both Indigenous and Fortune 100 companies. As a business leader and VP of an Aboriginal franchise for one of the world’s largest beverage companies, Terry focused on corporate growth by helping others start and grow their own business ventures.

He is a proud Aboriginal Canadian with extensive experience working collaboratively with the First Nation, Metis, Inuit and Native American communities. He has an extensive command of Corporate and Aboriginal issues, services and subject matter and is well versed in connecting main stream and Indigenous business. Terry dynamically understands both perspectives allowing him the niche opportunity to expedite or restart negotiations.

Terry, through Legacy Bowes Group, is a corporate member of Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers, (CANDO). Having worked and lived in a variety of locations across North America including Remote Northern locations and nation capitals, Terry is comfortable travelling and working in all environments.
