Position Profile - Key Responsibilities

  • Provide educational, institutional and financial leadership for the College
  • Work with the Governing Board to develop and establish a vision for the College that meets the needs of students and the organization, and that responds to constantly competing challenges and interests of the community
  • Initiate and develop a Strategic Plan that sets the direction of the College for the short term/long term based on the Governing Board ENDS
  • Ensures that an appropriate organizational structure is in place and that sufficient human, financial and physical resources are allocated to meet the priorities of the College's Strategic Plan
  • Identify and foster business/industry, government and community partnerships that enhance the reputation of, or create additional revenue sources for the College
  • Establish effective links with other provincial, Canadian and international education partners, including colleges, universities, and school boards, for the purposes of enrolment enhancement, articulation, cooperative programming, and the creation of student pathways to further higher education
  • Represent the College internally and externally in a highly visible, professional and personal manner
  • Represent the College within the educational and industry sectors and the provincial government and specifically, with the Ministries of Education, Advanced Education and Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade, and Labour and Immigration
  • Promote a learning and work environment that is open, collegial, equitable, diverse and respectful, and one that is committed to student success
  • Oversees and has managerial responsibility for six Adult Learning Centres and Osborne Village Resource Centre
