Position Profile - Qualifications/Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline
  • Exceptional leadership skills and ability, with a proven track record of accomplishment in senior level management in a technically oriented post-secondary educational system, complemented by practical experience in industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching and learning processes at the secondary and at the post-secondary level as well as knowledge of curriculum design and technical program implementation
  • Proven ability to build and motivate effective teams and to work with them to establish and achieve the goals of the College's Strategic Plan
  • Extensive knowledge of technical, vocational, and trades training including knowledge of the Apprenticeship system, combined with the drive to foster and encourage educational excellence and innovation
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated consultative and collaborative management style, decisive executive skills, and the ability to motivate others
  • Strong knowledge of the public school system, and the post-secondary education (college) system
  • Capacity to market the achievements of the College and demonstrate to government, business/industry, stakeholders, and to the public the College's importance as a key partner in the economic, social, environmental and educational vibrancy of the community
