Date: April 27-30, 2020
Legacy Bowes Group is pleased to return for our 10th year to offer a series of in-depth, “dig deep” human resource workshops where participants can learn key skills and take home practical tools and techniques that can be applied right away. Geared to the unique challenges faced by First Nation, Métis and Inuit communities, the conference is directed to Band Managers, Administrators and Executive Directors, Chiefs and Councillors, HR Managers, Program Managers, Finance Managers, Community Health Professionals, Social Workers and Educational Leaders.
With great interest in our Certificate in Indigenous Human Resource Essentials program, we are excited to hold two courses in conjunction with the conference. On April 27th we will offer, Level 1 - Course 3: Communicating Effectively and Conflict Management and Level 2 - Course 3: Cannabis in the Workplace. Attendance for these sessions is limited.
On April 28th, we will offer two bootcamps. One will focus on the basics and is perfect for someone beginning their career in HR. The second level bootcamp is more specialized and will answer your burning questions about such topics as employee turnover, recruitment struggles, absenteeism, and negativity - just to name a few. We will offer two sessions of the second level.
The conference workshops on April 29 & 30 will feature speakers covering the following topics:
- Building a Psychologically Safe Workplace
- Understanding and Working with Your Budget
- Accommodation and Complex Return to Work
- Caught in the Middle: Council and the HR Manager
